Dr Goldman has over 20 years experience as a mental health professional and speaks English and Spanish. A graduate of Tucson High School, she has degrees in both medicine and social work, and completed her training in psychiatry at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Her BA from The Evergreen State College, in history, political economy and fine art. Her Masters in Social Work is from Arizona State University and her MD is from the University of Arizona in Tucson. 

She sees elderly patients who are facing mental health crises at TMC's geriatric psychiatry inpatient location. She provides ECT at several Tucson based hospitals and will be offering outpatient psychiatric services at the Aleph Center's outpatient clinic in early 2018. She enjoys working with young adults into the senior citizen age ranges, and can see teenagers who are interested in being seen by a psychiatrist and not forced into it by their parents. 

Dr Goldman's patients include women, men, LGBTQ, and individuals in transition. With training in family systems therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Imago relationship therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, DBT and mindfulness meditation, Dr Goldman recommends balancing psychopharmacology (pills for mental health) along with purposeful daily choices in food, sleep, relationships, physical activity, thoughts, beliefs and actions, as part of an overall wellness plan for cultivating mental and physical health. Dr Goldman has background in psychotherapy but mainly offers briefer visits for psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, prescribing and medication management. 

Dr Goldman expects new and continuing patients to self report all risky behaviors, including substance use, to participate fully and with integrity in their treatment plan. Dr Goldman will not prescribe benzodiazepines or narcotics for outpatients, and will not support use of cannabinoids under any circumstances. Dr Goldman does not complete disability paperwork, provide forensic evaluations or participate in mediating legal disputes. Her cancellation and no-show policies are strict. Dr Goldman does not accept individuals mandated for court ordered treatment and will not tolerate abuse by patients, either toward herself or office staff. Dr Goldman does not provide crisis counseling by phone and will not prescribe or refill medications without an appointment.
